Shrewsbury Mayor Awards 2023
We are delighted to have been included in this year's #mayorsawards which recognise and celebrate those who have made an outstanding contribution to the town of Shrewsbury.
Mayor Elizabeth Roberts presented the awards at a lively ceremony on 18th April 2023. The evening was a true celebration of individuals and groups who have gone above and beyond to make Shrewsbury a better place to live. Nominees ranged across climate emergency and environmental issues to tourism and business, and in scale from major community projects to those unsung heroes who look out for their neighbours.
SY Homes were runners up for the Built Heritage Award which recognises the achievements of individuals, organisations and companies that own buildings in Shrewsbury and have worked towards enhancing the built heritage through new development in sympathetic heritage settings to reuse and conversion of existing buildings.
We focused our entry on our restoration of the Lord Hill Hotel, our rejuvenation of land at Albury Place, plus our refurbishment of The Ark's new facility exterior. SY Homes is holistically invested in Shrewsbury, building with the intention of adding real vibrancy and value to this beautiful town.
SY Homes were runners up to James St Clair Wade, a conservation architect of more than thirty years' experience and author/artist of the stunning Shrewsbury Streetscape Project. We are looking forward to featuring one of our buildings on his illustrations soon!
