Restoration of an historic building into three luxurious, modern homes.

The Shrubbery was built as a grand, family residence with extensive gardens in 1842.  In the 1960's, the house was converted in to a popular local wedding and events venue, the Lord Hill Hotel, until doors closed in 2020.

As Phase 1 of the Lord Hill Gardens development, SY Homes has invested significantly in the full renovation of the original Grade-II listed building.  Working with highly-skilled, local artisans and tradespeople, each home retains the grand proportions of the original building complemented by high specification finishes.

From designer kitchens and beautiful bathrooms with stylish hardware and tiles, to significant investment in new roofing, wall insulation, heating systems and double-glazed wooden sash windows, every detail has been carefully considered.  Each home benefits from landscaped gardens and private residents parking.

Lord Hill Gardens sits in the heart of the Abbey Foregate Character and Conservation Areas, on one of Shrewsbury’s original grand avenues.  With excellent local amenities and easy access to the town centre, residents will have direct access to the Rea Brook Valley Country Park and Nature Reserve.
